Job summary

Ball Corporation in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Quality Technician to join the Quality Assurance Team. You will inspect in-process or finished products against internal specs and advise production on results.

The role requires a high school diploma, about 1 year in a manufacturing setting, and proficiency with Excel, Word and Outlook. You will use calipers and micrometers, maintain a safe workspace, and collaborate across teams to uphold quality and 5S standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in production/manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety practices and policies including food safety, PPE, and emergency procedures.
• Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on inspection equipment.
• Routinely use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers.
• Advise production when inspection results do not meet customer specs.
• Maintain a safe, clean workspace per 5S standards.
• Build positive relationships across the team through collaboration and integrity.

PositionOverview:

As a Quality Technician, you will be a member of the Quality Assurance Team, reporting to a Quality Supervisor (or Manager—depending on plant). You will contribute to the success of Ball by inspecting in-process or finished products for quality; based on Ball internal specifications and will advise production on results.

KeyResponsibilitiesInclude:

• Follow all job safety practices and policies including but not limitedto:foodsafety; personalprotective equipment;emergency procedures, etc.

RequiredExperience andSkills:

• High School Diploma or education equivalentrequired.
• Minimum one (1)year of experience in a production/manufacturing role.
• Experiencemaintainingproduction or quality control equipment.
• Proficiencywith computer applications (such as: Microsoft: Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong attention to detail andexperience reviewing and understanding graphs and trends.
• Must be able to matchcolors.
• Demonstrated ability toprovideclear and concise communication (verbal and written) in arespectfulmanner to all levels of personnel.

PreferredExperience andSkills:

• 1+ years ofexperience as aQuality Technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with depth gauges, dial callipers, and/or automated gauges.

PhysicalEnvironment & Working Conditions:

• May be subject toall ofthe following, but not limited to:
• Hot/Cold working conditions.
• Standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
• Climbing (stairs, and other equipment as necessary).

• Expected Hiring Salary Range:$32.40/hr
• This role will be eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.
