Job summary

Sulzer in Easley, SC is seeking a Quality Technician to perform gage calibration and dimensional inspection in a team environment. You will follow ISO 9001 and company procedures, calibrate in-house instruments, and coordinate with calibration vendors as needed.

You will also perform incoming inspection, document QC actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Joining Sulzer means contributing to a global engineering leader with a strong focus on quality, safety, and development

Qualifications

• Performs gage calibration and dimensional inspection in a controlled environment following ISO 9001.
• Accepts responsibility for calibration of in-house measurement instruments and interaction with calibration vendors.
• Performs incoming inspection and contributes to process improvement and quality system documentation.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate measurement gages and perform dimensional checks per procedures.
• Interact with calibration vendors for external services as needed.
• Conduct incoming inspection and document quality actions.
• Support continuous improvement and scrap/rework reduction efforts.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and quality system requirements.

About the role

Job Summary Performs gage calibration and dimensional inspection functions in a team environment, following company policies and quality system procedures. Participates in the Quality System development and problem solving efforts. Responsible for gage calibration program. Work performed with minimal supervision using general instructions. Performs gage calibration for the measurement instruments for which there is in-house calibration capabilities; Selects and interacts with calibration vendors providing calibration services for manufacturing measurement instruments; Performs incoming inspection for designated parts. Fills out and files all the Vendor Corrective Action Requests for problems found in manufacturing; Participates in process improvement and scrap/rework reduction efforts throughout the manufacturing; Monitors the quality of vendor foundries as described in the quality system; Responsible for quality system documentation in his/her area. Facilitates compliance with procedures and work instructions; Follow procedures according to ISO 9001.
