Position Summary:
Performs various auditing functions of established procedures and processes throughout the organization to ensure compliance. Coordinates the adjustment of procedures/processes, as necessary, to facilitate continuous improvement, efficiency, and productive gains. Responsible for understanding and supporting corporate Quality Assurance policy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Schedule, coordinate, and perform regular audits of department procedures and processes.
- Work with department personnel to document procedures and processes.
- Document, track, and communicate audit findings to the appropriate department head and Quality Manager.
- Coordinate vendor and sub-contractor audits and reviews.
- Review component or system failures and facilitate process/procedure changes to prevent future failures.
- Prepare written reports of all audits.
- Interpret, support, and communicate Quality Assurance policies, processes, and procedures.
- Perform in-process inspections on fabrication, welding, and assembly of pressure vessels, piping, structural steel, and production equipment.
- Interpret drawings, customer specifications, and standards of moderate complexity.
- Address quality issues related to non-conforming material or components and ensure timely disposition.
- Maintain knowledge of relevant national codes (ASME, ANSI, ASNT, ASTM, AWS, NACE, API, ASIC, SSPC).
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Promote positive attitude towards progress, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or combination of education and experience.
- Five (5) years related experience and/or training; or ten (10) years with no CWI certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent lifting and carrying objects up to 30 pounds.
- Bending, squatting, climbing, pulling, stooping, twisting, reaching, working at heights.
- Ability to work under pressure.
