Position Summary:
The Quality Control and Assurance Technician is responsible for the inspection of plastic injection molded product, incoming goods, and tooling components as well as developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting quality processes/reports. This role has oversight of products being made to specification and free of defects. Other duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform daily production audits to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
- Complete incoming inspection reports for externally sourced components.
- Maintaining equipment calibration log.
- Perform first article inspections, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility and Capability Studies.Execution of Production Part Approval Processes and Validation Protocols.
- Recommend tooling and metrology fixturing refurbishing - replacement.
- Actively participate in internal design reviews with an emphasis on Design for Manufacturing and Lean Practices.
- Lead/participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address production non-conformances.
- Actively involved in ISO 9001 internal and customer quality audits.
- Bolster production floor needs (material handling, cell setup, operating) from time-to-time.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Proficiency using precision inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Print reading and GD&T.
- Familiarity with quality systems.
- Organizational skills - able to maintain a neat and orderly workspace and records.
- Critical thinking - able to draw conclusions and take actions based on data/evidence.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree in a related field a plus.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Experience with precision tools and products.
- Experience with plastic injection molding troubleshooting preferred.
- Experience with advanced inspection equipment a plus.
