Job summary

TSI Plastics in Minnesota is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform visual and dimensional inspections of precision molded parts and document results to meet ISO 9001/AS9100 standards.

You will use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs as needed, review data for discrepancies, and maintain inspection equipment. Strong GD&T knowledge and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
• Working knowledge of GD&T, inspection methodologies, and precision measurement equipment.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with ability to organize, prioritize, and plan work to meet deadlines.
• Sound problem-solving skills for routine and complex issues.
• Effective verbal and written communication with coworkers, customers, and suppliers.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Plan, perform, and document receiving, in-process, final, and first article inspections to customer designs, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Perform visual and dimensional measurements using hand-held and fixture-held equipment, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and pin, ring, and plug gages.
• Operate computer-assisted inspection equipment, including a CMM, articulating arm, and vision measuring machine.
• Review inspection results for compliance and take appropriate action when discrepancies are identified.
• Maintain the integrity of inspection equipment through correct use, handling, storage, and reporting.
• Work directly with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of the quality system.

Work Environment

This position is based in the quality lab. It requires standing and walking for extended periods, handling precision parts and equipment, and lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. PPE, including safety glasses, hearing protection, and closed-toed shoes, is required on the production floor.
