Job summary

US Farathane in Austin, TX is seeking a Quality Engineer to develop and maintain quality systems and support customers with quality issues. You will participate in APQP, PPAP processes and lead corrective actions.

The role requires experience with ISO9001/IATF16949, FMEA, MSA and Gage R&R, and will involve cross-functional teamwork, Run@Rate planning, and strong problem-solving skills. On-site work with standard hours.

Qualifications

• ISO9001, IATF16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving experience.
• Knowledge of quality systems and inspection techniques.
• Capable of performing Gage R&R and Capability studies.

Responsibilities

• Test parts for functional, dimensional, and physical properties.
• Create, update and maintain Quality Documentation and customer reports.
• Serve as focal point of contact for customers and internal teams.
• Lead cross-functional teams for root cause analysis and mistake-proofing quality problems.
• Coordinate with customers on quality performance trends and corrective actions.
• Prepare APQP documents for PPAP/PSO and manage ECNs after SOP.
• Support Run@Rates with Materials and Production teams.
• Adhere to 5S and OSHA safety procedures.

Summary

Quality Engineer will develop and maintain quality systems according to standards and to assist customers with any issues.

Essential Functions

• Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Ongoing testing of parts ( Functional, Dimensional, Physical properties, etc.)
• Create, update and maintain Quality Documentation, Customer Contact Reports, Customer Sort Reports, Information Relating to Concerns, Procedures, etc.
• Serve as a focal point of contact for internal and external customers.
• Participate in / Initiate cross-functional teams in the pursuit of effective problem solving and mistake-proofing quality problems.
• Travel and provide support to customers to resolve problems.
• Participate and Improve in product development meetings to review engineering changes, manufacturing methods, planning and process specifications related with product quality.
• Coordinate with customers, related with the quality performance trends and corrective action.
• Communicate production and quality issues with employees and supervision when necessary.
• APQP:
• Responsible for development and support of all APQP Documentation required for PPAP, PSO , etc.
• Responsible for development and support of all APQP Documentation required for PPAP, PSO ,etc.
• Responsible for the ECNs after SOP or programs in Production Phase.
• Prepare and submit APQP documentation.
• Support and work with Materials and Production departments to plan and perform Run@Rates
• Develop visual standards, system criteria, for use in manufacturing operations in a new launch and maintain for serial life products.
• Plant Activities - Internal:
• Responsible for following all internal and OSHA-required safety procedures.
• Adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. quality manual, associates handbooks, level II procedures, etc.)
• Maintain work area per 5S standards
• Perform other duties as requested by the Quality Manager and Corporate Quality

Qualifications

• Technical Degree/ equivalent experience. Computer literate.
• ISO9001, IATF16949, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, QOS, 8D Problem Solving experience.
• Knowledge of quality systems and standards. Knowledge of inspection techniques and measurement instrument usage.
• Capable of performing Gage R&R, and Capability studies.
