Job summary

Regal Rexnord in Auburn, AL seeks a Quality Technician to perform quality control tests and inspections across production stages, documenting data and creating summaries to validate standards.

Responsibilities

  • Read complex drawings and BOMs; understand manufacturing processes.
  • Decide if parts meet specs and issue scrap tickets for non-conforming product.
  • Attach inspection reports to SAP and maintain records.
  • Read and verify gauges used in the plant.
  • Learn Zeiss CMM and Keyence machines as needed.
  • Coordinate returned product through the RMA process.
  • Participate in process and department improvement discussions.

This is a fully onsite role, with work performed at your designated Regal Rexnord office.

Position Overview

The Couplings Division of the Industrial Powertrain Solutions Segment is seeking a Quality Technician in Auburn, AL. Description: The ideal candidate performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components, parts, etc., at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality standards. Records and analyzes data and may writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards. Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods, and procedures. Typically, has up to 3 years of experience in similar position or specialization. Applies basic skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position. Duties and tasks are standardized. Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Works independently and as a team promoting cohesion within Regal Rexnord while following standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requires ability to read complex drawings and understand Bill of Materials and have a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, that may include turning boring grinding balancing, heat treating, coatings or others as needed to manufacture components to the drawings and specifications.
  • Makes decisions on whether parts meet the drawing/router specs and issues a scrap tickets when non-conforming product is realized.
  • Attach inspection reports and balance records to SAP.
  • Must have the ability to read and verify various gauges used in the plant.
  • May need the ability to learn the Zeiss CMM Keyence machines.
  • Scanning and filing production routers and material certifications will be required.
  • Coordinate returned product through the RMA process.
  • Actively participate in process and department improvement discussions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area
  • Must be computer proficient and SAP experience is preferred
  • High school level math skills
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills – English primary language
Work Type

On-Site: This position normally works 8-hour shifts with a forty-hour work week. Some overtime may be required to meet production demands or customer needs. Additionally covering for other associate’s vacations may be required.
