Job summary

Charter Next Generation, Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician in Superior, WI. You will evaluate film quality, review specifications, and perform a range of tests to ensure customer requirements are met across day and night shifts on a 2-2-3 rotation. Qualifications

• Excel, Word, and basic formulas usage.
• Strong mathematical ability.
• Able to perform 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds.
• Good communication and willingness to learn in a technical environment.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Wages start at $20.00 per hour with night shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate physical and visual properties of manufactured film against specs.
• Review product specs to understand customer requirements.
• Test film (dyne, width, CoF, gloss, surface quality).
• Enter test results into production monitoring system.
• Calibrate and clean equipment.
• Communicate inspection status to supervisors and extrusion tech.
• Maintain sample retain system and properly label/store retains.
• Transport/store retain boxes and discard outdated items.
• Maintain a clean work environment and prepare Certificates of Analysis.

The Role

From machine operators to maintenance technicians to quality inspectors, our teams help protect what matters most—making everyday life safer, smarter, and more sustainable.

Schedule: Work only 15 days per month with our unique 2-2-3 schedule

• Rotational Shift: Alternates between Day Shift (7:00am-7:00pm) and Night Shift (7:00pm-7:00am) hours every 4 weeks

What You'll Do

• Responsible for evaluating the physical and visual properties of manufactured film to ensure customer requirements are met. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following tasks:
• Reviewing product specifications and additional item information to understand customer requirements.
• Testing plastic film (dyne level, width testing, CoF testing, gloss testing, surface quality, etc.)
• Entering quality testing results into the production monitoring system.
• Calibrating Equipment
• Cleaning Equipment
• Conveying product quality inspection status to Supervisor and/or Extrusion Tech for management of the production process.
• Maintaining the sample retain system.
• Properly labeling and storing of retains in bags.
• Transporting and storing retain boxes.
• Discarding out-of-date retains.
• Maintaining a clean work environment.
• Creating and distributing Certificates of Analysis

What You’ll Bring

Essential Qualifications:

• Possess intermediate computer skills, including Excel, Word, and utilization of formulas
• Strong mathematical skills
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts and lift up to 65 pounds
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with measuring tools
• Strong communication skills and positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a technical environment
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening
• Wages ranging from $20.00 per hour +, dependent on experience.
• Additional $2.50 per hournight shift differential.
