Job summary

Multimatic in New Haven, AL is seeking a Quality Assurance Liaison to bridge the Quality and Manufacturing groups. You will audit, enforce and train associates on the quality policy, and work with minimal supervision to maintain compliance across production.

Key duties include reading blueprints with GD&T, handling non-conforming material, performing capability studies, supporting PPAPs, updating inspection records and ICPs, and assisting with audits.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with at least 2 years quality/manufacturing experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Audit and enforce the quality policy across Quality and Manufacturing.
• Read, interpret, and understand blueprints (GD&T) and control plans.
• Assist Quality Technicians with capability studies, Gage R&R and variance analysis.
• Assist with PPAPs, process audits and LPA audits.
• Distribute and manage non-conforming materials and ICP updates.
• Create and update work instructions, forms and inspection reports.
• Fill in for Quality Technician and Weld Analyst positions as needed.
• Input production data into quality databases.

SUMMARY

Act as a liaison between the Quality and Manufacturing groups. Audit, enforce and train other associates on all aspects of the quality policy. Should be self-directed and work well with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• GD&T – Must be able to read, interpret and understand blue prints.
• Production Process – Should have a general knowledge of several production processes and how parts are produced and how characteristics impact downstream customers.
• Hold non-conforming materials (use inventory management).
• Sort through non-conforming material as necessary to aid in disposition.
• File and maintain in-process inspection reports
• Assist Quality Technicians perform capability studies, Gage R&R’s and analyze process variances.
• Assist with running any extra testing required as part of validation process after quarantine.
• Problem solves (work with operations on shift to determine root cause of material on hold and make the appropriate changes to limit the amount of material placed on hold).
• Perform control plan audits. Work with Quality Engineers to update control plans as needed.
• Perform Process/Product and LPA Audits.
• Issue gages to production as necessary.
• Assist with or answer 8D assignments on customer rejects.
• Update ICP’s as needed for various programs as assigned.
• Ability to generate new form/work instructions/checksheets.
• Assist the Quality Manager and Quality Engineer as assigned and with PPAP’s.
• Fill in for Quality Technicians and Weld Analyst positions when needed.
• Must have the ability to make quality decisions on production parts when necessary.
• Assist with organization and set up of outside sort or rework activities (Vendor)
• Assist and maintain internal sort criteria and instructions.
• Collect and input production information into Quality databases.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

A High School diploma or GED. Minimum two (2) years general or specific experience in this field.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, comprehend and interpret documents and statutes from jurisdictional agencies and governmental units, procedure and policy manuals, contracts and agreements.

Ability to write instructions, procedures, policies, reports and various correspondences.

Ability to speak and present effectively in one-on-one, and in small and large group settings, as well as before customers, government and regulatory agencies

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply mathematical concepts in statistical analysis, design of experiments, and part variations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding and create instructions, reports and analysis from data or statutes furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Interpret and apply laws and regulations to situations. Ability to negotiate with associates and business entities.

Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to communicate with diverse personalities is tactful, mature and flexible. Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment, resourceful and well organized. The ability to establish credibility and be decisive, while supporting personnel and the organizations preferences and priorities.
