Job summary

Toyoda Gosei Americas seeks a quality engineer to establish quality systems for new programs and equipment. You will develop and maintain process control plans, PFMEA, and customer documentation such as part approvals and inspection standards.

Responsibilities include leading cross-functional teams to identify root causes, perform 5-Why/8D, and ensure PPAP/QMS compliance. Travel up to 20% is required. BS in engineering and manufacturing quality experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience / education in PPAP or other ISO/TS documentation.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with customers.
• Knowledge and ability to do SPC studies.
• Ability to problem solve - 5 why, 8-D, etc.
• Willing to travel up to 20% of time (domestic and international).
• Experience / education in preparing PPAP or other QMS documentation.
• Statistical knowledge for capability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Establish Quality Systems and foundation for new programs, new product lines and new equipment.
• Develop documentation to support customer and internal requirements (Part approval, SDS, Inspection Standards)
• Develop and update Manufacturing Quality Charts (MQC) / Process Control Plans
• Gage development, confirmation, and Gage R&R. (CF Approval)
• Analyze new process for improvements and failure modes with cross functional team (PFMEA development and updates)
• Negotiate appropriate quality judgement levels with customer (Boundary Samples)
• Develops CIS for new processes.
• Color and Grain matching.
• Analysis of process for stability and capability
• Support QC to improve / correct quality concerns for mass production parts.
• Develops all customer documentation for new parts – Inspection Standard, Sample Data Sheet
• Develop / design checking fixture concepts for new parts (working with CF builder)
• Responsible for all part approval documentation submitted to the customer.
• Attends all required trials for responsible parts (internal and at customer)
• Ability to lead activities with other departments to find root cause and develop countermeasures for issues.
• Maintain awareness and understand the roles and responsibilities regarding the environmental policies, management system, and objectives and targets by attending the required training. Perform all tasks in accordance with the EMS procedures and practices and minimize the impact of their activities on the environment.
