Job summary

Nextpower is seeking a Quality Systems Engineer in Mesa, AZ (with travel) to maintain the Quality Management System, manage manufacturing documentation, and support quality compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of related experience in quality systems, quality engineering, manufacturing quality, document control, or a related field; or 3+ years with a Master's degree; or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge and practical experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
• Experience managing controlled documentation, engineering changes, revision control, and quality records.
• Experience supporting internal or external quality-system audits.
• Experience working with PLM, ERP, MES, QMS, or similar enterprise systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and associated quality documentation requirements.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently evaluate issues and determine actions.
• Effective written and verbal communication across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and support the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Manage engineering and manufacturing documentation, including specifications, procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records.
• Administer document control processes for review, approval, release, revision, and archiving.
• Manage revision control and support engineering changes and updates to manufacturing documentation.
• Maintain quality records in accordance with retention and compliance requirements.
• Support ISO 9001 audits, including preparation, evidence collection, and follow-up.
• Identify quality-system gaps and implement corrective actions with stakeholders.
• Maintain calibration records and support measurement equipment calibration processes.
• Support training for quality procedures and controlled processes.
• Keep manufacturing procedures updated reflecting current approved processes.
• Administer and maintain electronic document control and quality systems with accurate data and revision control.
• Support quality-system metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Evaluate issues and elevate risks as necessary.
• Provide guidance on document control and QMS requirements to stakeholders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve quality-system processes.
