Job summary

Viaflex, Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a Quality Control Associate to support QC functions on a day shift. You will collect samples, report defects, and assist with material dispositioning and documentation to uphold ISO standards.

Responsibilities include assisting with testing, maintaining clean work areas, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the quality team. Previous quality exposure is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; prior quality experience is a plus.
• Experience reading blueprints and following detailed work instructions.
• Proficiency with computers and ability to maintain accurate records.

SCHEDULE:

Day Shift 6AM–6PM – 2-2-3 Schedule

SHIFT PREMIUM:

$2/hr for Rotating shift ($2/hr total premium)

Essential Functions

• • Collect and deliver product samples from production to QA.
  • Identify and report defects or non-conformances pertaining to the production lines / material to the QA lab
  • Sealing up gaylords and requesting new gaylords be delivered when full
  • Replenish Production, QA and other consumable bins when needed
  • Assist with the dispositioning of material.
  • Assist with maintaining quality management documentation.
  • Assist with verification and/or testing of raw materials and finished products to order and required specifications.
  • Contribute to department improvement initiatives.
  • May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assistance in other areas as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomics standards.
  • Demonstrates Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions.
  • Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent education. Previous Quality experience is preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience in a production environment is beneficial. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Proficiency with a computer. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. The position will require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
