Viaflex, Inc. in Brandon, SD is seeking an Inventory Handler to manage receipt, storage, and issuance of materials supporting production schedules.

You will perform cycle counts, ensure inventory accuracy, transport materials between work centers, and maintain a safe, organized work area, with opportunities to participate in improvement initiatives. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 3+ years of production experience, with CDL eligibility; computer proficiency and teamwork are

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 3+ years production experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and pass the DOT exam every 2 years.
• Experience with inventory control, material handling, and safety practices.

Responsabilités

• Perform cycle counts and inventory checks of raw materials and locations.
• Follow processes to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Supply materials to production work centers as needed.
• Transport materials between work centers and storage.
• Complete necessary paperwork per process.
• Operate forklift or pallet mover as division requires.
• Participate in production improvement initiatives.

• Unload, inspect, and store large materials.

Inventory Handler

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the receipt, storage, and issuance of materials to support production work centers. Ensure production has the necessary materials and supplies to manufacture products and complete production schedules in a timely and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform cycle and inventory counts of raw materials and inventory locations as required.
• Follow department processes to assure inventory accuracy.
• Verify established criteria, and supply materials to production work centers.
• Transport materials or finished products between work centers, or to appropriate storage locations.
• Complete necessary paperwork per process.
• Depending on division, may operate forklift or company pickup truck.
• Participate in production improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrates the Viaflex Team Member Values in their daily actions.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area. Follow established safety and ergonomic standards.
• May be called upon to perform comparable duties of a similar or related nature and/or assist in other areas as needed.
• Learning, understanding, continuously improving, and promoting the division’s quality management system in accordance with ISO standards.
• Contributes to the team and tasks in an above average manner.
• Lead or participate in department improvement activities.

• Unload, inspect, and store large, boxed materials.
• Responsible for mass quantities of raw materials.
• Depending on division, operate railcar material handling equipment and pull samples of incoming materials.
• Work with other departments to coordinate storage and staging.
• Target raw materials to optimize use of partial goods.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent education. 3+ years production experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License and pass the DOT exam every 2 years.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Depending on division, have ability to operate a forklift, pallet mover, and hoist equipment. Ability to maintain accurate records. High level of responsibility to handle mass quantity and high value raw materials. Good organizational skills. Well-developed problem analysis and problem-solving techniques. Proficiency with a computer. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff.

Physical Requirements: Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, and reach. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
