Job summary

Viaflex, Inc. in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking an Operator of Large Machines to operate extrusion, laminator, tarp machine, winder, and related equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

You will load and unload materials, package products for shipment, monitor machine conditions, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Prior machine operation is preferred; training is provided. Weekend shift includes a $3/hr premium and full benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous machine operation experience preferred, but not required.

Operator Large Machines

SUMMARY:

Operate various types of large machines in a production environment in order to produce a product. Types of machines are (but not limited to) extrusion, laminator, tarp machine, winder, seal cart, etc.

SCHEDULE:

Day Shift Fri, Sat, Sun 6AM-6PM

SHIFT PREMIUM:

$3/hr for weekend shift ($3/hr total premium)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Load and unload material throughout production run.
• Package material for shipment by cutting, wrapping, palletizing, banding, labeling, etc.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Previous machine operation experience preferred, but not required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Aptitude to learn mechanical skills. Team player who is self-motivated and has ability to work with minimal supervision. Basic math skills. Ability to work at a fast pace efficiently. Ability to read blueprints and work instructions and maintain accurate records. Proficient with computers. Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff. Good eye/hand coordination. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to operate forklift, pallet mover, or hoist equipment. Forklift certification may be required.

Working Conditions: Exposure to a normal office environment. Position may occasionally require entering a production environment, including exposure to noise, fumes, moving machinery, and varied temperatures.
