Job summary

Prince Industries seeks a Quality Supervisor to coordinate inspection and testing activities and work with Engineering to develop methods that meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities include supervising Hold Area, Lab, and Calibration, directing work assignments to ensure on-time inspection, and driving process improvements while upholding ISO certifications and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence as needed
• Ability to communicate effectively both in oral and written form
• Proficient in the use of all department and inspection equipment
• Ability to perform advanced math skills related to manufacturing environment (i.e., trigonometry, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints (i.e., assembly, production, GD&T)
• Excellent knowledge of standard inspection variables like thread, knurling, hardness finish operations
• Understands and follows the company's certification policies and standards (i.e., ISO)
• Ability to pay attention to detail to visually inspect and recognize discrepancies in part's defects
• Basic computer knowledge with data entry skills
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational skills required to schedule work assignments and prioritize urgent matters
• Ability to perform effectively under pressure; involves coping with stress and maintaining a composed, professional manner in all circumstances related to employees or co-workers

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure product conformity.
• Supervise and coordinate QC/inspection operations across Hold Area, Lab, and Calibration.
• Assign and adjust tasks to meet production schedules and ensure on-time inspection.
• Manage disposition of discrepant material and document outcomes.
• Collaborate with Engineering to develop master inspection documentation.
• Communicate clearly with departments and maintain safety training discussions.
• Use SPC techniques as required and review quality data for improvements.
• Maintain records and prepare reports for management review.
• Support internal and external audits to preserve ISO certifications.
• Assist HR with staffing considerations and coaching as needed.
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste and defects.
• Lead department meetings to drive quality initiatives.
