Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Quality Supervisor to oversee hourly coordinators and associates and drive improvements in FTQ, DPU, and NUFR at our Kentucky plant. The role requires strong problem solving, leadership, and training abilities within a manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will implement quality systems, guide supplier issue resolution, and collaborate across departments to achieve measurable quality gains and maintain robust CAR/PAR and SCAR processes.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have an Associate degree (required).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a related field.

Job description

About the Role:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all quality functions for the plant are maintained and improved. They supervise hourly coordinators and associates; evaluate, train, and discipline employees. They will work cross-functionally to improve quality metrics such as FTQ (First Time Quality), DPU (Defects per Unit), and NUFR (New Unit Failure Rate).

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, analyzes, designs, and implements key quality systems in manufacturing that improve or stabilize product quality
  • Facilitates and guides problem-solving and process improvement efforts
  • Provides guidance in resolving supplier issues
  • T eaches, educates, and trains the team on quality systems and skills matrix
  • Delivers effective training and leads meetings
  • Achieves measurable results in process and product quality
  • Maintains CAR/PAR system for the plant
  • Maintains and writes SCAR for the plant
  • Coordinates weekly and yearly body audits and fleet audits
  • Assists and maintains the plant’s non-conforming process
  • Ensures quality staff results by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising results
  • Collaborates with peers, subordinates, and supervisors
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree, trade or technical school (required)
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Kronos (preferred); AS400 (preferred)
  • Experience with problem-solving methods, PPAP, PFMEA
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Minimum 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Team-building within QA and across departments
  • Coaching to motivate and develop others
  • Constructive conflict resolution
  • Judgment and data-driven decision making
  • Facilitates creative solutions to problems
  • Cost-conscious and collaborative mindset
  • Six Sigma certification is desired
