Role Summary

The Quality Specialist 2 will complete routine activities to monitor and coordinate the project quality program. This position will be responsible for reviewing documents, attending meetings, conducting walk-through inspections, and investigating non-compliant conditions. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
  • Learns and actively participates in all aspects of the company’s safety and quality plans and culture by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and setting an example for others.
  • Participates in the Project Specific Quality Plan, Water Intrusion Plan, and Quality Status Report.
  • Ensures comprehensive documentation of quality assurance processes, test results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Collaborates with suppliers to establish and maintain quality standards for incoming materials.
  • Gains knowledge of design documents to identify potential quality problems and assist in developing constructability review reports.
  • Develops project site observations to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.
  • Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Ensures Project Quality and Water Intrusion Plans are established, regularly updated, and accountability assigned.
  • Prepares the Project Quality Status Report before monthly review meetings.
  • Participates in creating national initiatives like Quality Assurance Manual Updates, Quality Broadcasts, and Quality University.
  • Monitors trade partner quality programs and recommends improvements.
  • May serve as the quality representative on projects.
  • Develops relationships with cross-functional partners to enhance quality performance.
  • Supports larger or complex quality investigations and implements quality scope on projects.
  • Stays current on industry standards, regulations, and policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform work accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Effective presentation skills.
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, building codes, and technical data.
  • Knowledge of material and field testing for QA processes.
  • Understanding of construction assemblies and trades.
  • Proficiency in construction and quality software tools.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction management, or related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu.
  • At least 2 years construction experience preferred.
Working Environment
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel as needed.
  • Exposure to extreme conditions possible.
  • Frequent activities include standing, walking, sitting, viewing screens; occasional activities include bending and reaching.
