Job summary

ATI is seeking a quality-focused professional to serve as a proactive workforce presence dedicated to conformance to product and process standards. You will disposition materials to improve quality and maximize product flow, determine corrective actions for discrepant product, and interface with internal customers and suppliers on quality issues.

You will observe product on the floor to evaluate quality, support calibration records, and assist with training and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in a technical or engineering field or minimum of five years work experience in manufacturing.
  • Computer working knowledge with Microsoft Office and company-related systems.
  • Highly motivated, organized with the ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with the workforce to ensure conforming production, with emphasis on aerospace and defense applications.
  • Quality presence on the floor; observe material in the plant and report quality of non-conforming material.
  • Evaluate product for quality to determine disposition of material.
  • Assist in root cause problem-solving initiatives.
  • Provide off-turn support including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Submit customer offers to inside sales.
  • Maintain calibration records of calibrated measuring devices and perform calibrations.

Job Summary

Serve as a proactive presence to the workforce to ensure conformance to product and process standards. Responsible for material disposition to improve quality and maximize product flow in a timely manner. Determine corrective actions for discrepant product, and disposition material to respective operations for on-time delivery. Observe product to evaluate for possible defects and determine actions to improve quality and product flow. Interface with internal customers and suppliers on quality related issues. Adhere to Quality Management Systems including product quality, calibration records, and training documentation.

Essential Functions
  • Engage with the workforce to keep all product and process quality requirements at the forefront and ensure conforming production, with emphasis on aerospace and defense applications.
  • Responsible for material assessment and disposition of non-conforming product. Requires knowledge of customer requirements, delivery schedules, costs, material characteristics and equipment capabilities.
  • Quality presence on the floor. Observe material in the plant and report quality of non-conforming material including returned material, in-process material, and experimental products.
  • Evaluate product for quality to determine disposition of material.
  • Submit customer offers to inside sales.
  • Assist in root cause problem-solving initiatives.
  • Provide off-turn support including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Perform Quality Observation Audits.
  • Support Customer Audits and Customer Source Inspections.
  • Maintain calibration records of calibrated measuring devices. Perform Calibrations, Maintain Daily logs, Data Entry, Pickup/Drop Off of equipment.
  • Assist with training and documentation. Maintain qualification checklist.
  • Assist Develop/Edit current and new procedures and control plans
  • Assist with skills verification

Requirements
  • Associates degree in a technical or engineering field, or minimum of five years work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer working knowledge with Microsoft Office and company-related systems
  • Highly motivated, organized with the ability to work as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the metals industry.
  • Prior experience in a quality inspection role.
