Job summary

Millennium Steel of Texas, LP is seeking a Quality Specialist to join our San Antonio, TX team. You will lead day-to-day quality activities, support audits, and drive improvements across the MST Quality department.

The role requires strong communication and training skills, experience with root cause analysis, and the ability to train operators and quality staff in proper procedures. Minimal travel is expected and days are Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

  • 4 yrs. College; or five years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional communication and training skills are necessary.
  • 2yrs CMM operator and supervisory experience is a plus, preferably in the automotive field.
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, and Power Point).

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day activities and improvement activities for MST Quality departments.
  • Maintain Root Cause Analysis/Customer Complaints logs to ensure responses are approved and issued on time.
  • Monitor Countermeasures for Quality complaints and audit findings including the A3 process.
  • Create, consult, and support operations with training in areas of deficiency found during daily audits.
  • Train operators and warehouse team members in proper quality processes.
  • Train quality personnel to proper procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for monthly quality reports
  • Internal and level up audits
  • Create, revise and review quality documents.

Quality Specialist

Salary Range: $26.00 To $26.00 Hourly

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Duties subject to change and or additional duties may be assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Preferred Education and Experience:
In addition to the required above, 2yrs CMM operator and supervisory experience is a plus, preferably in the automotive field. Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, and Power Point).

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervision of quality coordinators, analyst, Team Leaders and CMM operators. Does not include disciplinary or attendance issues. Fill in shifts when needed.

Travel Required:Minimal travel required, less than 25%.

Work Schedule: Day shift schedule (Monday – Friday). Possibility of weekend work when needed.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, quality manuals, operational procedures, and work instructions. Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, suppliers, or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to use ten key calculator, perform data entry, and use various personal software. An intermediate knowledge of Excel is required. Knowledge of metric system is preferred.
