Job summary

Givaudan in Florence, KY, seeks a Quality Assurance professional to maintain local quality and food safety programs, aligning with global policies and leading internal audits. You will partner with Operations, Regulatory, Purchasing, and Production to support customer requirements and drive improvements.

The role includes managing customer complaints, supporting regulatory audits, and mentoring staff to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Service or related field with 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/ Management/Control.
• Background in Quality and Food Safety Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FDA requirements (PCQI), Food Defense.
• We prefer HACCP and PCQI certifications, and familiarity with kosher, halal, USDA, and organic requirements.

• Perform Internal audits and monthly food safety inspections.

• Provide mentoring on quality and food safety to all staff.
• Manage food safety non-conformances, including root cause analysis and action follow-ups.
• Implement Quality and Food Safety Programs aligned with global policies.
• Support customer and regulatory audits and improvement plans.
• Participate in projects for quality and food safety improvements at the site.

Job Purpose

You will maintain the local Quality and Food Safety programs aligned with global policies, regulatory and customer requirements. You will participate in local Vendor and Customer Quality Programs aligned with global policies. You will manage Customer Complaints and improve/compliance of Customer requirements. You will be a member of the Site Local Quality team, with no direct reports. Your main stakeholders will be: Operations, Global/Regional Quality, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production, and Regulatory.

Salary Range Based On Experience: $75,000 - $85,000.

Main responsibilities

• Manage local Quality and Food Safety programs aligned with global policy
• Help maintain the local quality/food safety documentation
• Maintain the local quality, food safety and food defense programs along with the compliance responsibilities for programs such as halal, kosher, USDA, and organic.
• Perform Internal audits and monthly food safety inspections
• Lead the execution of internal and customer-focused quality and food safety system requirements
• Provide mentoring on quality and food safety to all staff
• Manage food safety non-conformances, including participation and review of the root causes, trend analysis and action follow-up
• Implement Quality and Food Safety Programs aligned with global policies
• Help implement globally agreed quality and food safety system requirements from customers
• Help implement globally new or updated global/regional quality and food safety system policies
• Manage/support customer audits and resulting improvement plans
• Manage/support regulatory audits and resulting improvement plans
• Manage/support certification/program audits and resulting improvement plans
• Perform and report on vendor audits
• Participate in projects for quality and food safety improvements at the site
• Guide quality notifications compliance (ie: closing, cost data, adherence to Givaudan policies).
• Manage Customer Complaints and improve/compliance of Customer requirements
• Implement globally /regionally agreed quality requirements from customers
• Manage Customer Complaints, provide response and upscale
• Drive/Coordinate initiatives to improve customer complaints performance

Education / Background / Technical skills

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Service or related field with 1+ years of experience in Quality Assurance/ Management/Control.
• Background in Quality and Food Safety Systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, FDA requirements (PCQI), Food Defense. Lead/internal auditor experience. Experience in compliance with kosher, halal, USDA, and organic requirements. We prefer HACCP and PCQI certifications, but do not require them.
• We prefer computer knowledge with such systems as SAP, Databases, and Microsoft Office products. We prefer Excel knowledge, including data analysis, formula creation, pivot tables and charts.
