Givaudan in Mount Olive, NJ is seeking a QC Technologist to evaluate raw materials and finished goods through sensory and analytical tests. You will perform organoleptic assessments, pH and titration analyses, and instrumental measurements to characterize samples. Data is entered into SAP, with documentation of non-conformances for investigations.

The ideal candidate holds a chemistry/biology degree and has 1–2 years of lab experience, with willingness to work extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology with lab experience.
• Experience in chemistry or laboratory techniques is required.

Responsabilités

• Perform sensory assessments (organoleptic) and visual QC determinations.
• Conduct chemical tests (pH, acid values) using wet chemistry methods (titration).
• Measure physical properties (specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, flashpoint).
• Perform instrumental analyses (GC-MS, IR, ICP) to determine composition.
• Enter results into SAP and laboratory systems.
• Document non-conformance and summarize data for investigations.

Purpose

Under regular management evaluate, inspect and analyze raw materials, intermediates and finished goods by performing basic sensory and physical and analytical tests to secure compliance with product safety regulations, specifications and standards.

Reporting to: QC Manager

Salary Range Based On Experience: $59,818 - $80,000

Main Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of quality control related sensory assessments including organoleptic (e.g. odor and taste) and visual determinations (e.g. color and appearance).
• Perform a variety of quality control related measurements (e.g. chemical tests to determine pH, acid values) using wet chemical methods such as titration, saponification.
• Perform a variety of quality control related measurements (e.g. specific gravity, refractive index, melting point, flashpoint) to determine the physical characteristics of the sample
• Perform a variety of quality control related measurements (e.g. chromatography, GC-MS, infra-red, ICP) to determine the composition of samples tested.
• Enter results into laboratory books / systems such as SAP.
• Document non-conformance. Extract, summarize and collect data for material related investigations.

Academic Background

• Bachelor's degree within a technical field such as Chemistry, Biology. We require experience in chemistry or laboratory techniques.

Professional Experience

• Overall laboratory work experience of 1- 2 years in a similar position.

Technical Skills

• Laboratory and QC techniques required.
• We prefer good computer knowledge with such systems as SAP, Databases, Microsoft Office products.
• We prefer operational experience of a laboratory environment, analytical equipment and instruments such as weighing balance, Densitometer, Refractometer, Moisture balances, Karl Fischer Titrator, Sieve testing equipment, GC.
• Knowledge of chemical substances, hazardous material and related local regulations.
• Basic Sensory evaluation capability / potential capability.

Other Requirement

• Comfortable to step in other projects to support business needs, may require to work extended hours and over the weekend.
