Job summary

NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, CA is seeking a QC Safety Manager to oversee center-wide safety, health, environmental, and fire protection goals, and participate in Safety and Health Plan activities.

The role requires reviewing safety incidents, conducting investigations, reporting findings, and managing corrective actions; coordinating site safety training; and maintaining OSHA logs and workers’ comp documentation.

Qualifications

• Eight years of experience in quality, safety and health management for industrial/aircraft facilities.
• Experience identifying, preventing and eliminating hazards.
• Experience with ISO 9001 compliance.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review safety incidents/accidents, conduct investigations, report findings and manage corrective actions.
• Submit monthly metrics: close calls, safety meetings, AHAs, inspections, and hazards corrected.
• Generate, conduct and track all site safety training.
• Conduct OSHA log recordkeeping and workers' comp forms/reports.
• Conduct supervisor training on company policies and procedures involving incidents and accidents.
• Identify and track corrective actions through resolution.
• Research safety-related information and update policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
