Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware, seeks an experienced BI/Analytics professional to design and deliver Epic-based analytics solutions. The role focuses on reporting, data modeling, and content creation using Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, and Cogito SQL to support clinical and financial decision making.

You will work with data consumers and SMEs, write SQL, maintain the Analytics Catalog, and test builds in staging and live environments.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Configure/test Epic content for Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, Cogito SQL.
• Create content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, Caboodle.
• Write SQL and configure Radar for custom metrics.
• Modify existing reports and distribute analytics content to users.
• Review peer reports for validity and quality.
• Collaborate with SMEs to understand data consumer needs.
• Maintain Analytics Catalog and metadata records.
• Test analytics builds in test environments and volume test in live environments.
• Review Cogito upgrade docs and plan implementation.
• May build cubes, extracts, SlicerDicer filters, and work with third-party BI tools.

Overview BIDs design and create analytics solutions based on an in-depth knowledge of operational system usage. This level of knowledge requires a deep understanding of system build, end user workflows, and patterns of use. The best BIDs have both the technical skills required to design and write reports and the operational knowledge

Responsibilities

• Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including:
• Reporting Workbench
• SlicerDicer
• Radar
• Cogito SQL
• Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle
• Writing SQL and configuring Radar settings for custom SQL metrics
• Modifying existing reports, as necessary
• Distributing analytics content to data consumers
• Reviewing peer reports for validity
• Working with subject matter experts to understand the needs of data consumers
• Maintaining the Analytics Catalog and associated metadata records
• Testing analytics build in a specified testing environment and volume testing in live environments
• Reviewing upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determining how to implement the changes
• BIDs might also be responsible for building and maintaining:
• Cubes
• Extracts
• SlicerDicer custom filters
• Third-party BI tools
• Epic data in Caboodle

• Proficiency and demonstrated experience with analytics tools
• Familiarity with Epic applications and database structure, through training that occurs early in the implementation
• Ability to gain an in-depth understanding of the data model through data model classes geared toward content areas
• Ability to understand data structures that could benefit the entire data environment
• For financial reporting: Prior experience working with an AR system is desirable, but not required
• For clinical reporting: Prior experience working with an EMR system is desirable, but not required

Education

• A degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics/ or 10 years of proven experience on data base management and/or strategy
