Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer certified in Epic Cogito to lead analytics, develop data solutions, and support clinical and business operations. Qualifications

• 4+ years of healthcare or IT experience.
• 3+ years of experience with BI reporting tools.
• 3+ years of SQL experience including writing complex, highly optimized queries across large data volumes, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures.
• Knowledge of BI reporting best practices.
• Experience with the complete report development lifecycle for medium to large scale projects.
• Training in fundamentals of report design for third-party reporting tools.
• Strong experience with end users to understand workflows and present data meaningfully.
• Cogito Fundamentals Certification (required for data model certification).
• Cogito Tools Administration Certification.

Responsibilities

• Configure and test Epic-released and Foundation System content for Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, Cogito SQL.
• Create content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle.
• Write SQL and configure Radar settings for custom SQL metrics.
• Modify existing reports.
• Distribute analytics content to data consumers.
• Review peer reports for validity.
• Work with subject matter experts to understand data consumer needs.
• Maintain the Analytics Catalog and metadata records.
• Test analytics builds in specified testing environments and volume testing in live environments.
• Review upgrade documentation related to Cogito features and determine implementation.
• Build and maintain Cubes-Extracts, SlicerDicer custom filters, Third-party BI tools, and Epic data in Caboodle.
• Identify business and technical impacts of user requirements.
• Ensure quality and delivery of technology business solutions.
• Create ad hoc queries, data sources and reports to support the business.
• Utilize Cogito tools to deliver data solutions.
• Provide production support and respond to BI development questions.
• Mentor and guide other developers.

Business Intelligence Developer certified in Epic Cogito, will play a pivotal role in providing analytics insights and developing data solutions to support clinical and business operations. Collaborating closely with various stakeholders, your responsibilities span from gathering requirements and performing qualitative and quantitative analyses to designing, developing, and maintaining complex reports and databases.

This Epic subject matter expert will build data solutions by leveraging the Epic databases (Chronicle, Clarity, Caboodle) and the Cogito suite of tools.

Responsibilities

• Configuring and testing Epic-released and Foundation System content for all applications, including: Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, Radar, Cogito SQL
• Creating content to display Epic data from Chronicles, Clarity, and Caboodle

Qualifications

• 4+ years of recent healthcare or IT experience
• 3+ years of experience with BI reporting tools
• 3+ years of experience with SQL, writing complex, highly optimized, queries across large volumes of data, database design, data warehouse design, query performance tuning, and writing stored procedures
• Knowledge of BI reporting best practices
• Applied experience working through the complete report development lifecycle for medium to large scale projects
• Training in the fundamentals of report design for the third-party reporting tool
• Strong experience with end users to gain an understanding of user workflows and how to present the data users need in a meaningful way
• Certified in Cogito Fundamentals (this is required to complete data model certification)
• Certified in Cogito Tools Administration
• Complete the Caboodle-Clarity Development class
• Badges for Radar SQL Metrics, SlicerDicer Custom Build, and Cogito SQL

Travel Required

• Domestic travel up to 25%

Education

• College degree in engineering, physics, computer sciences, math, information systems, or statistics (Required)
• Advanced degree (Preferred)

Required Technical Training or Professional Licensing

• Epic Cogito Certification, Epic Certifications based on role focus - one or more of the following certifications are required:
