Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Sanford, North Carolina, is seeking a Quality Inspector to perform inspections, document findings and support continuous improvement efforts. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure products meet stringent specifications and safety standards.

The role requires basic experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and teamwork. This is a 1st shift position with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits starting Day ONE.

Qualifications

• 6 months of prior work experience.
• Strong communication (written and oral).
• Experience in Product Auditing Processes is a plus.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar Systems is a plus.
• Meticulous and analytical by nature.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspections based on the checklist of inspection points and procedures.
• Complete inspections using provided tools and testing methods.
• Conduct inspections at quality gates or pre-delivery inspection stages.
• Inspect products to ensure they meet specifications.
• Document data from tools and flag defects for repair.
• Communicate cross-functionally to complete tasks.

• $20.20 Per Hour

Job duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, Cab electrical tests, templates, etc.)
• Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection
• Inspects products to ensure it meets the specifications
• Gather data from various tools and tooling systems and document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair
• Cross-functional communication to complete tasks

Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Ability to sit/stand for prolonged periods
• Ability to perform repetitive operations
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs

Basic Qualifications:

• 6 months of prior work experience

Top Candidates will also have:

• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Machine equipment product knowledge
• Experience in Product Auditing Processes
• Strong quality and attendance record
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
• Meticulous and analytical nature
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Strong commitment to safety, quality and teamwork
• Knowledge of Caterpillar Systems
• Further education beyond high school

Summary Pay Range:
