Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in North Little Rock, AR is seeking a Quality Technician II for the 2nd shift to perform quality inspection of components and assemblies, applying CAT drawings and standards to ensure conformance.

The role emphasizes reading engineering drawings, RCCA/8D problem solving, and using SAP-ME, AQE, Teamcenter, and Excel. Shift hours 3 p.m. – 11 p.m., with potential overtime and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year in Quality Inspection, Welding & Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Paint or Logistics.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and Cat 1E specs desired; GD&T understanding helpful.
• Ability to use SAP-ME, AQE, Excel; Teamcenter for CAD models; knowledge of EPIX/PRWB/REDI is a plus.
• Proficiency with manual measurement devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers).
• Experience RCCA or 8D problem resolution is highly desirable.

Quality Technician II 2nd shift earning $21.75 an hour (plus a 7% Shift Differential) you will perform quality inspection of Motor Grader, Medium Wheel Loaders, and DV components and DV machines. Emphasis is on assembly and paint process inspection. Apply Caterpillar engineering drawings, specifications, and standards to judge conformance of NLR products.

Basic Qualifications

• At least one year of experience is required in one of the following areas: Quality Inspection, Welding and Fabrication, Machining, Assembly, Paint, or Logistics.

Top Candidates will also have

• Additional work experience, particularly in a manufacturing quality role, is highly desirable.
• Experience reading engineering drawings and Cat 1E specifications is highly desirable. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance is also desirable.
• Computer literacy with proficiency in SAP-ME, AQE, and Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
• Ability to use Teamcenter software to open and view CAD models of Prime Product and assemblies is highly desirable. Experience using online Caterpillar drawings (in EPIX or PRWB) and 1E Specifications (in REDI) also highly desirable.
• Experience in use of manual measurement devices (calipers, gauges, micrometers, and etc) highly desirable.
• Understanding and experience with the root cause and corrective action (RCCA) or 8D issue resolution process is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to build positive working relationships with coworkers and customers.

Summary Pay Range
