Job summary

L3Harris is recruiting a Process Inspector – Level C for our Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL. The role focuses on inspecting inert rocket motor hardware, developing audit plans, and coordinating with engineers to ensure compliance and timely production.

You will work Friday through Sunday on a 3/12 day shift, using precision measurement tools and following AS9100 quality standards. This position requires a HS diploma with extensive relevant experience or an associate degree

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Experience in quality-focused roles preferred.
• Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) desirable.
• Familiarity with AS9100 quality management standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Use standard measuring equipment and techniques to inspect products, processes, and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Develop and execute audit plans to ensure processes are followed, equipment is maintained and calibrated, and materials meet all requirements, including shelf-life controls.
• Work with the operations team to verify products meet specifications and schedule commitments.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend effective solutions.
• Evaluate similar processes within the shop and develop standardized inspection methods and criteria to minimize error and define standard work.
• Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes; collect data and assist with research activities, exercising judgment to identify and recommend solutions.
• Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify, and/or elevate out-of-control conditions and production escapes.
• Coordinate with maintenance, supervision, and operations personnel on equipment and tooling setup and calibration; ensure compliance with the calibrated items process and conduct periodic facility audits.
• Participate in preventive maintenance activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
