Apple Inc. in Cupertino is seeking an AIML - Quality Engineering Manager to lead the Quality Platform Engineering function within Responsible AI. You will hire and grow a team spanning test engineering, applied ML, and platform-specific expertise, translating pipeline health into risk terms for stakeholders.

You will drive safety sign-off, extend coverage across platforms, and champion shift-left safety testing while delivering measurable improvements in end-to-end outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading technical teams.
• Experience with ML evaluation, production ML systems, or CI infrastructure at scale.
• Strong engineering skills; production-quality code in Python or similar.
• Experience across multiple platforms or hardware form factors.
• Experience with human-labeled or crowd-sourced evaluation data.

Responsibilities

• Hire, grow, and build a team spanning test engineering, applied ML, and platform-specific expertise.
• Own leadership reporting and safety sign-off representation for Quality Platform Engineering.
• Set and reprioritize feature clusters and platforms based on risk and gaps.
• Drive investment in test pipeline efficiency and reduce pre-merge signal latency.
• Extend safety testing coverage to all Apple platforms and devices.
• Upstream trusted datasets for safety test cases.
• Champion shift-left safety testing at component level.
• Stay fluent to evaluate findings and unblock hard problems.
• Ensure signal aligns with ship-time metrics for end-to-end prediction.
• Manage exposure to sensitive content and support team wellbeing.
