Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking an AIML - Data Scientist to join the Responsible AI team in Cupertino. You will apply product data science to the safety of Apple Intelligence, influencing features like Siri, Image Playground, and more through rigorous experimentation and analysis.

You will design, run, and interpret experiments, collaborate with engineers and product partners, and communicate findings clearly to drive safe, high-quality AI experiences across Apple products.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Statistics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong foundation in data science, analytics, and machine learning, including statistical analysis, A/B testing, and the full lifecycle of experiments.
• Strong programming skills in Python and at least one data-querying language (SQL, Spark). Comfort with AI-assisted development tools.
• Track record of framing research and business questions, and answering with appropriate statistical tools.
• Excellent technical communication skills, able to explain complex ideas to diverse audiences.
• Willingness to work with highly sensitive material, including exposure to offensive content.

Responsibilities

• Apply product data science to safety of Apple Intelligence and related features.
• Partner with feature engineering teams to design, run, and evaluate safety mitigations.
• Uncover safety weaknesses and measure in-production performance of mitigations.
• Communicate insights clearly to engineers, product partners, and executives.
