Job summary

Alcon in Houston, TX is seeking a Quality Operations Associate to support the quality management system by handling intake, scoping, documentation, initial investigation, and triage of nonconformances at our Manufacturing Facility. This role emphasizes timely capture and clear definition of events.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality engineering, MS&T, and materials teams to ensure accurate records, traceability, and audit readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Responsibilities

  • Receive and log quality events in the quality management system
  • Ensure events are documented with complete, accurate, and compliant records
  • Gather relevant information to clearly define the scope of the event
  • Inventory blocking and unblocking
  • Conduct preliminary investigations to identify facts, timelines, and impact
  • Collect and review supporting documentation, records, and data
  • Track event progress to ensure timely closure
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality engineering, MS&T, material, etc.)
  • Maintain high-quality data entry, ensuring traceability and audit readiness
  • Perform triage and risk assessment to determine impact, severity, and required investigation record type

This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Quality Operations Associate supports the quality management system by ensuring timely and effective handling of quality events.

This role is responsible for intake, scoping, documentation, initial investigation, and triage of nonconformances at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX.

Specifics include:
  • Receive and log quality events in the quality management system (Teamcenter).
  • Ensure events are documented with complete, accurate, and compliant records.
  • Gather relevant information to clearly define the scope of the event.
  • Inventory blocking and unblocking.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations to identify known facts, timelines, and impact.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Work Hours: Weekdays (A-Shift) Monday-Wednesday & every other Thursday 4am-4:30pm

Location: Onsite

Travel Requirements: 0 – 10%
