Job summary

The City of Kirkwood, Missouri seeks a Code Enforcement Officer responsible for enforcing health, environmental, property maintenance, nuisance, weed, sanitation, and zoning codes. Investigate complaints, notify violators, prepare cases for prosecution, and coordinate abatement.

You will testify in court, file liens, coordinate with other departments, maintain code complaint systems, and provide status updates to residents, Council, and administration. Evening court sessions may be required.

Qualifications

• Four years experience in code enforcement or related field.
• Two years education above the high school level.
• Valid Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Investigates complaints from residents and staff to determine code violations and notifies the responsible party.
• Initiates enforcement on problem properties and coordinates with other departments and the prosecutor for city cases.
• Maintains code complaint systems and keeps residents and leadership advised of case status.
• Attends court sessions to testify and may perform evening investigations as needed.
