Job summary

Eagle Analytical seeks a Microbiologist to lead routine and advanced QC testing in a microbiology lab. The role involves aseptic production, troubleshooting, and strict adherence to SOPs and ISO 17025 standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or related field plus at least 12 semester hours of hands-on microbiology and/or chemistry lab work.
• MS or minimum 3 years of pharmaceutical/biochemical QC lab experience in microbiology.
• Demonstrated microbiology lab experience in QC/biotech/pharma settings with skills like microbial enumeration, growth promotion, isolation, environmental monitoring, method suitability, or gram staining.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine testing on samples and report results with supervision to meet deadlines.
• Interpret results to determine pass/fail and document outcomes.
• Conduct manufacturing and quality control testing for in-house media production.
• Perform complex testing with minimal supervision and maintain accuracy.
• Aseptic production of BSL-1 and BSL-2 microbial stocks.
• Record, report and investigate unexpected test results with supervision.
• Maintain BSL-2 regulated microorganisms and comply with SOPs, ISO 17025, and cGMP requirements.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; escalate calibration issues promptly.
• Provide cross-technology training and stay updated on microbiology techniques and instrumentation.
• Maintain accurate documentation and assist with safety and compliance audits.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety rules.
