Job summary

Eagle Analytical seeks a Microbiologist I to perform routine microbiological testing supporting product quality and safety. The role emphasizes accuracy, regulatory compliance, and documentation in a regulated environment.

You will handle BSL-1/BSL-2 organisms, maintain GMP/GDP documentation, and participate in training to expand microbiology expertise. Overtime and weekend hours may be required as part of the lab schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in microbiology or related science field with hands-on lab coursework.
• 0–2 years of pharmaceutical/biochemical QC laboratory experience.
• Experience in a microbiology lab (microbial enumeration, growth promotion, environmental monitoring or related).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine microbiological testing on samples to meet deadlines.
• Ensure accuracy and validity of results per SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Interpret test results to determine pass/fail status and escalate as needed.
• Record, report, and investigate unexpected results with supervision.
• Prepare samples, reagents, and media for daily testing activities.
• Support sample receipt and chain of custody documentation.
• Handle BSL-1 and BSL-2 microorganisms following safety protocols.
• Maintain GMP/GDP-compliant documentation.
• Maintain and clean lab spaces and equipment; ensure readiness.
• Perform basic instrument maintenance and troubleshooting; report calibration issues.
• Dispose of biohazard waste according to SOPs.
• Comply with ISO 17025, cGMPs, and quality guidelines.
• Participate in trainings and cross-technology programs.
