Job summary

Qualifications

  • Degree in a technical field, preferably Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Process Engineering, or similar.
  • Several years of experience in quality management in plastics or manufacturing.
  • Experience with quality management systems and standards such as BRC, ISO, Polaris.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Fluency in German and English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop quality management at the site and ensure compliance with customer requirements and regulations.
  • Coordinate internal, supplier, and customer audits and support certification processes.
  • Manage CAPA and continuous improvement initiatives across Quality and Production.
  • Develop specifications, inspection plans, and testing procedures with stakeholders.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and report to management; support cross-site projects.

We are looking for a Quality Manager – Site Gendorf (m/f/d) to join our team at the Gendorf site as soon as possible.

Purpose of the Role

The position is responsible for leading and developing quality management while ensuring the highest standards of quality and product safety. The objective is to ensure compliance with customer requirements, legal regulations, and certified management systems; continuously improve quality processes; and sustainably maintain customer satisfaction through effective quality analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective and preventive actions.

The role also represents the company in quality-related matters with customers, suppliers, and other external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, organize, and continuously develop quality management at the site.
  • Identify emerging quality and product safety topics and initiate and manage improvement projects in close collaboration with relevant departments and the Business Excellence team.
  • Ensure the implementation of quality requirements and standards across all relevant processes.
  • Maintain and further develop the Quality Management System (QMS) and its associated documentation.
  • Plan, conduct, and support internal audits, customer audits, supplier audits, and certification audits.
  • Conduct risk assessments focusing on quality and product safety, and define and monitor appropriate measures.
  • Manage Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to sustainably improve product and process quality.
  • Develop and continuously improve specifications, inspection plans, and testing procedures in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
  • Support Procurement and Supply Chain Management in quality-related supplier matters, including audits, technical discussions, complaint management, and specification development.
  • Monitor relevant quality KPIs and prepare and present quality reports.
  • Advise and support relevant departments on all quality-related matters.
  • Promote a sustainable quality culture through training, coaching, and awareness initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with and implementation of relevant standards, regulations, and legal requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, BRC, product safety, environmental protection, and occupational health and safety).
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as Division Management, to optimize quality standards and process controls.
  • Represent quality interests in cross-site and divisional projects and contribute to the harmonization of best practices and standard processes.
  • Maintain constructive cooperation with the Works Council and support the Training Department on quality-related matters.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Provide both functional and disciplinary leadership to the Site Quality team and support its professional development.
  • Foster a performance-driven, appreciative, and quality-oriented team culture.
  • Develop, motivate, and coach team members to continuously enhance their technical and methodological competencies.
  • Set objectives, manage, and prioritize quality-related activities to achieve company goals.
Professional Qualifications
  • Successfully completed degree in a technical field, preferably in Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Process Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • Alternatively, completed technical vocational training followed by further qualification as a Master Craftsman or Certified Technician, combined with relevant professional experience.
  • Several years of professional experience in quality management, ideally in the plastics processing industry or a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound knowledge of quality management and relevant methods, tools, and processes.
  • Experience with quality management systems and commonly applied standards, including BRC, ISO, Polaris, etc.
  • Good business and commercial understanding.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with SAP and production data acquisition systems (BDE).
  • Very good command of both German and English.
