Universal Piping Industries (UPI) in Troy, MI seeks a Quality Manager to lead QA/QC for engineering, fabrication, and field installation across industrial piping and HVAC projects. You will own the quality program from kickoff through turnover, ensuring welds, spools, and systems meet code and client standards.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in industrial piping quality, strong ASME/WPS/NDE knowledge, and excellent cross-functional communication to support audits and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of quality management in industrial piping, mechanical construction, or pipe fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1/B31.3, ASME Section IX, and AWS D1.1.
• Experience developing ITPs and managing NCR/corrective action processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for client-facing quality reporting and audits.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s QMS across fabrication shops and field sites.
• Ensure work complies with ASME, AWS, and client specs.
• Create and manage project-specific ITPs and QC plans for piping, fabrication, and HVAC.
• Lead welding-related inspections, NDE coordination, and welder qualification testing.
• Own NCR processes and drive root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with clients during audits and turnover activities.
• Maintain traceability docs, MTMs, and turnover packages.
• Train fabrication and field supervision on quality standards and procedures.
