Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Quality Manager I for a Federal Building project in Patuxent, MD. You will implement and oversee the QMS, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and mentor project teams in quality procedures.

You will lead inspection/testing plans, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement while coordinating with operations, design partners and clients to protect quality, safety and profitability.

Qualifications

• AEC Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent field experience with relevant certifications
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification preferred but not required
• Certifications for testing and inspection as required to verify procedures

Responsibilities

• Quality champion for project(s), ensuring quality of works, materials, documentation and close-out
• Coach and train project staff in quality management principles and requirements
• Lead quality processes: planning, pre-activity meetings, material control, incident reports, inspections
• Establish and report KPIs and QIRs to drive continuous improvement
• Audit project quality programs and provide feedback to improve ownership and non-conformances
• Direct inspections, testing and documentation; schedule tests with operations, consultants, labs and client
• Develop project-specific inspection/test plans and quality control procedures
• Support risk management strategies to improve profitability and reduce risk
• Maintain relationships with owners, clients, subs and stakeholders to resolve issues
