Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking a Quality Manager I for our Federal Building project in Havelock, NC. You will lead the quality management program, ensure compliance with QMS and project requirements, and drive continuous improvement across the project team.

Qualifications

• AEC Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field; certification preferred.
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certification is preferred but not required.
• Industry certifications for testing and inspection as required to review and certify tests and procedures.
• Limited travel for projects as necessary.
• Salary range is $115,000–$160,000 annually.
• Level 1 QCM certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of AEC experience, with 3 years preferred in a Quality role.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and time management skills.
• Knowledge of standards, specifications and publications relevant to QA/QC duties.

Responsibilities

• Quality champion for a project or multiple projects, accountable for quality of work, material management, documentation and close-out.
• Coach and train project staff in quality management principles and project-specific requirements.
• Lead and manage quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management and Quality Incident Reports.
• Establish, monitor and report KPIs and QIRs; analyze trends and propose improvements.
• Audit project quality programs and provide feedback to improve non-conformances.
• Direct inspection, testing and documentation of works; coordinate inspections with operations, labs and client.
• Create and implement project-specific inspection/test plans and quality control procedures.
• Support risk management strategies to reduce risk and improve profitability.
• Maintain relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders; support partnering and issue resolution.
• Support Site Safety to ensure work aligns with safety procedures and goals.
