Job summary

Walsh Group in Fort Lauderdale, FL seeks a Quality Manager I to implement and improve the Quality Management System on the SW 10th project. You will lead quality planning, inspections, and documentation to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient project execution, mentoring staff and coordinating with operations and clients.

Qualifications

• AEC Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with related field experience and relevant certifications.
• Current certification is required.
• USACE/NAVFAC/NRC Construction Quality Management certs preferred.
• Limited travel for projects as necessary.
• Level 1 QCM certification.
• Minimum 7 years in AEC, with 3 years in quality roles.
• Strong communication, critical thinking and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Quality champion for a project or multiple projects, overseeing quality management duties.
• Coaches, mentors and trains project staff in quality management.
• Leads and manages quality processes: work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management.
• Establishes and reports KPIs and QIRs to drive continuous improvement.
• Audits project quality programs and provides feedback on major QIRs and non-conformances.
• Directs inspection, testing and documentation; schedules tests with operations and client.
• Creates and implements project-specific inspection and test plans and QC plans.
• Supports risk management strategy to improve profitability.
• Maintains relationships with owners, clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Supports Site Safety to meet safety procedures and goals.
• Monitors project quality costs and rework costs via QIR system.
