Job summary

Tlingit Haida Tribal Business Corporation (THTBC) seeks a Quality Manager to oversee maintenance quality standards and continuous improvement across projects at Naval Station Mayport, FL. You will implement QC plans, coordinate with government representatives, and drive corrective actions to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

The role requires experience with QMS, strong communication, and the ability to access government worksites.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience preparing and enforcing a Quality Management System.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Construction Quality Management course with current certificate preferred.
• Current CMQ/OE certification preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office; Maximo experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Defines quality standards for maintenance based on customer requirements.
• Performs scheduled and unscheduled inspections to monitor quality.
• Reviews inspection data and tracks maintenance and support performance.
• Maintains a technical data reference library and reports deficiencies.
• Prepares inspection reports for customer and Project Manager.
• Oversees the entire quality control program and acts as primary QC contact.
• Implements Contractor’s Quality Control Plan.
• Coordinates with Contracting Officer and COR on performance evaluation.
• Investigates complaints, implements corrective actions, and documents results.
• Supervises daily operations to meet contract performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

About the Role

The primary purpose of the position is to oversee and ensure that all maintenance activities comply with customer, company, and regulatory quality standards through effective quality control and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Defines quality standards for maintenance based on the customer’s published requirements.
• Conducts scheduled and unscheduled inspections to monitor quality throughout the organization.
• Reviews inspection results and other data to keep track of maintenance and support performance.
• Maintains a technical data reference library and manages the reporting of any technical data deficiencies.
• Prepares reports summarizing inspection findings for the customer and the Project Manager.
• Oversees and manages the entire quality control program and acts as the primary contact for all quality-related issues.
• Manages and implements the Contractor’s Quality Control Plan.
• Coordinates with the Contracting Officer and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR), who evaluate contract performance.
• Investigates customer complaints, implements corrective actions, monitors their effectiveness, and helps document and submit results to the COR as required by regulations.
• Exercise supervisory responsibility to oversee daily operations, ensure task completion, and support overall contract performance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

• Five (5) years of experience in preparing and enforcing a Quality Management System.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Construction Quality Management (CQM/CCQM) for Contractors course with a current, valid certificate preferred.
• Current CMQ/OE (Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence) certification preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate effectively with employees, subcontractors, leadership, and government representatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.
• Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• This position is primarily performed in an office setting; however, regular site visits and field inspections are required. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active work sites when necessary. This may include standing, walking, bending, or climbing for extended periods while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
