Accurate Personnel is seeking a hands-on Quality Manager for a precision manufacturing facility in Elk Grove Village, IL. You will lead the quality management system, drive AS9100 compliance, and oversee CMM inspection and programming to ensure dimensional accuracy of complex machined components.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on CMM experience is required.
  • Strong AS9100 experience is required.
  • Experience within aerospace, precision machining, CNC manufacturing, or a highly regulated manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing or leading a quality function.
  • Strong understanding of AS9100 requirements and quality management systems.
  • Proficiency with CMM inspection, measurement systems, and dimensional inspection equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T, specifications, and tolerances.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, non-conformance management, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with Production, Engineering, Operations, and senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all quality assurance and quality control activities across manufacturing operations.
  • Own, maintain, and continuously improve the AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100 requirements and applicable customer and regulatory standards.
  • Manage and oversee CMM inspection and programming activities, including dimensional inspection and verification of complex machined components.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and customer requirements to establish appropriate inspection methods.
  • Develop and maintain inspection plans, control plans, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs related to defects, scrap, rework, customer complaints, on-time quality performance, and corrective actions.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
  • Investigate internal and customer non-conformances and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Manage customer complaints, returns, quality escapes, and associated corrective action requirements.
  • Lead internal, customer, supplier, and third-party quality audits.
  • Prepare the organization for AS9100 surveillance and certification audits.
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of CMMs, gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection processes.
  • Partner with Production, Engineering, and Operations to identify process improvements and resolve quality issues.
  • Analyze quality data and trends to identify systemic issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, defects, and cost of poor quality.
  • Train, coach, and develop quality personnel and manufacturing employees on quality standards and inspection requirements.
  • Establish and maintain supplier quality expectations and assist with supplier corrective actions.
  • Ensure complete and accurate quality records and documentation.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, precision, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

Job Summary

The Quality Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s quality management system and ensuring products, processes, and operations consistently meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements.

This is a hands-on manufacturing quality leadership role requiring strong experience with CMM inspection and AS9100 quality systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in precision CNC machining or aerospace manufacturing, with the technical expertise to lead inspections, audits, corrective actions, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Experience with FAI / AS9102 First Article Inspection.
  • Knowledge of SPC, MSA, PPAP, CAPA, 8D, and Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with quality management software and ERP/MRP systems.
  • CMM programming experience is strongly preferred.

  • Must comply with all required PPE and safety procedures.
  • Occasional lifting of materials or equipment may be required.
