Quality Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and quality management activities for a high-precision aerospace manufacturing operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on quality professional with a strong mechanical background and experience in CNC machining, aerospace manufacturing, and AS9100/ISO 9001 environments.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with production, customers, and employees while driving quality, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- Maintain corrective action and discrepant material logs
- Serve as the primary customer contact for quality-related issues
- Manage calibration of measuring equipment and instruments, including GAGEtrak
- Review certifications and quality requirements
- Review quality requirements on production routers
- Conduct regular internal quality audits
- Complete First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
- Perform Gage R&R and Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA)
- Conduct process capability studies using Cpk and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Perform random in-process quality inspections
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and preventative action
- Drive initiatives to reduce scrap, improve quality, and increase production throughput
- Manage non-conforming product and determine appropriate disposition
- Work closely with production to identify and resolve quality issues
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and quality-focused work environment
- Ensure compliance with established quality system requirements and company procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field
- 10+ years of manufacturing experience
- 5+ years of experience in an ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manufacturing knowledge
- Experience working in a precision machining or aerospace manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Preferred Experience
- 2+ years of quality management or supervisory experience
- Experience with CMM, optical comparator, Keyence vision systems, calipers, and micrometers
- Experience with CNC machining and high-precision manufacturing
- Experience with FAIRs, Gage R&R, Cpk, SPC, and continuous improvement
- Strong knowledge of quality inspection and measurement systems
