They are currently seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to lead their quality department and drive continuous improvement across a high-volume, multi-process manufacturing operation.

Position Overview:

As Quality Control Manager, you will own the quality function from the shop floor to the executive level — leading a team of quality engineers and inspectors, managing the quality management system (QMS), and serving as the primary point of contact for customer and registrar audits. This role requires someone who can balance hands‑on floor presence with strategic oversight: setting quality policy, managing department budget and staffing, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across a large, complex production environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the quality team (quality engineers, inspectors, CMM programmers) across all shifts
  • Own and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) to AS9100/ISO 9001 (or equivalent) standards, including documentation, procedures, and work instructions
  • Serve as primary contact for customer audits, registrar/certification audits, and supplier quality reviews
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) programs for internal and customer‑reported nonconformances, ensuring timely closure
  • Set and track department KPIs (scrap rate, cost of quality, on‑time delivery, customer PPM, etc.) and report to senior leadership
  • Oversee calibration program, measurement systems analysis (MSA/Gage R&R), and inspection equipment investment
  • Manage department budget, staffing, and training plans
  • Partner with engineering, production, and sales on new program launches (APQP/PPAP) to ensure quality requirements are built into new work from the start
  • Lead supplier quality management, including supplier audits, scorecards, and corrective action follow‑up
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies) across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and customer‑specific requirements
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related technical field (or equivalent extensive hands‑on experience)
  • 7 + years (preferably) of progressive quality experience in a machine shop or precision manufacturing environment, including 3 + years in a supervisory/management role
  • Strong working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 (or industry‑specific equivalent), GD&T, and blueprint reading
  • Proven experience leading internal and external audits
  • Experience managing CAPA/root cause programs (8D, 5 Why, Fishbone/Ishikawa) at a department level
  • ASQ certification (CQE, CQM/OE, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Experience with SPC, Minitab, and/or Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills
  • Experience managing budgets and departmental staffing
