Job summary

Derby Fabricating Solutions in Louisville, KY, is seeking an Automotive Manufacturing Quality Manager to lead the Quality Management System across the plant. You will direct quality staff, partner with the plant manager, and drive APQP/PPAP activities that ensure customer satisfaction and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes strong measurement, blueprint interpretation, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive industry.
  • Working knowledge of AIAG core tools, e.g. APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Interpret and understand blueprints.
  • Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, drop gages, Micro Vue, and steel rules.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Self-motivated, ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day interaction with the plant manager on Quality-related activities.
  • Advanced Production Quality Planning (APQP), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
  • Provides reports of Quality information to the Corporate Quality Manager.
  • Ensures that the Quality work area is clean, organized, and documents are properly maintained.
  • Completes special projects as requested.
  • Facilitates the rejected material and corrective/preventive action process.
  • Participates in continual improvement activities.
  • Assumes the role of ISO/TS16949 plant management representative.
  • Interacts with customers and suppliers concerning Quality Activities.
  • Calibration Systems.
  • Process and System Audits.
  • Hiring, training, managing, and counseling of employees.
  • Perform product audits.
  • Measure product for process capability studies.
  • Conducts studies/audits using laboratory equipment.
  • Assists with calibration.
  • Completes special and miscellaneous projects.
  • All other work assigned.

Derby Fabricating Solutions is looking for a skilled Automotive Manufacturing Quality Manager to join their team in Louisville, KY.

This is a critical role responsible for sustaining the Derby Fabricating Quality Management System within the manufacturing plant, as well as providing direction to the quality support personnel.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Experience in manufacturing environment, preferably within automotive industry
