Malone Workforce Solutions partners with an automotive client in the Louisville area to hire a Quality Engineer. This on-site role supports customer requirements and product quality across the plant floor, with emphasis on PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plan, and MSA.

The candidate will interact with all levels of personnel to ensure quality goals are met. Bachelor's degree required with 3+ years in automotive quality, strong problem-solving skills, and experience on the production floor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 3+ years of production-based quality engineering experience within automotive.
  • Experience dealing with non-conformances in a production environment.
  • Problem solving experience with 8D or 5 Y activities.
  • Experience with dimensional control systems (X-R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma).
  • Comfortable spending 65% or more of their day on the production floor.

Responsibilities

  • Update/maintain the Control Plan for the assigned workflows.
  • Primary contact source with customer/supplier representatives, maintain positive communication and relationship, support and attend meetings, reviews and audits.
  • Ensure that the quality system is maintained in accordance with the company iOS standards.
  • Facilitate problem solving teams and respond to customer discrepancy notices.
  • Verify corrective actions and prepare problem solving customer correspondence related to quality concerns or issues.
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits, and report to management on quality issues, trends and losses.
  • Establish process controls, assist in training of new projects and buy-off on new/modified equipment and processes.
  • Participate in workgroups (e.g., FMEA, PSMC, etc.). Support the risk and failure analysis (PFMEA) reviews
  • Performs root cause analysis of technical quality problems, with support of across functional team.
  • Support quality/dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies).
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP tools (e.g., Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC, etc.).

Job description

We are working with an automotive client in the Louisville area who is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team. The Quality Engineer will work with all levels of the facility personnel to ensure customer requirements and product quality are met. Prepare documentation and provide support for new program part launches and process changes including PPAP, Control Plan, FMEA, etc. Interface with all aspects of the plant to ensure product quality is being met. This is a direct hire position that would be in office 5 days a week. No sponsorship is available. No B2C/C2C. Must live in the Louisville area. No relocation available.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree is required
  • 3+ years of production-based quality engineering experience within automotive ( open to other manufacturing industries)
  • Previous experience dealing and working through non conformances within a production environment
  • Problem solving experience with previous experience leading 8D’s or 5 Y activities.
  • Previous experience with dimensional control systems (i.e., X&R charts, gage studies, Six Sigma, dimensional capability studies).
  • Comfortable spending 65% or more of their day on the production floor.
