Reports to: VP of ManufacturingDepartment: Plant OperationsFLSA Classification: ExemptTravel: Occasionally (up to 10%)JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Manager oversees and enforces quality assurance standards across the full production process, from raw materials through final shipment. This role ensures that products meet internal requirements, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory standards before leaving the facility. The Quality Manager also leads the Quality Inspection team and is responsible for maintaining the facility's ISO and aerospace quality certifications.JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Direct the hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions of Quality Inspection team members.Guide inspectors in identifying, documenting, and resolving production defects.Qualify and certify raw materials and the subcontract supplier base.Disposition questionable nonconformities and work with vendors to expedite return-to-vendor items.Manage receiving, work-in-process, and finished goods inspection processes.Manage Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs), including data collection and analysis, with a focus on corrective and preventive action.Reduce manufacturing waste through proactive quality controls and corrective actions.Implement and maintain a rigorous Quality Management System (QMS).Own compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 certification requirements, in coordination with the New Products and Compliance ManagerMaintain and control Quality System documentation, including procedures, work instructions, work aids, and forms.Maintain calibration records and the calibration database.Establish and maintain the quality database to track customer complaints, reject scrap, in-process inspections, receiving inspections, final inspections, internal and external DPPM, and Material Review Board activity.Demonstrate and embody our core values: Be Limitless, Be Resilient, Be People Centered, Be a Team, and Be Trustworthy.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.Five years’ experience in Quality Assurance.Three years’ experience in supervisory position.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Knowledge of military standards, federal regulation, standard test methods, and product specifications.Skilled in use of quality instruments, equipment, and gauges.Ability to communicate effectively and represent company or departmental interests during customer or registrar audits.Ability to read and understand blueprints.Strong math and statistics skills, including SPC; Six Sigma exposure a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality/ERP database systems.JWOD (Javits-Wagner-O'Day Act) — working knowledge of AbilityOne Program compliance and reporting requirements.ISO (International Organization for Standardization) quality standards — working knowledge of ISO 9001 and applicable aerospace certifications (AS9100).ASQ certification (e.g., Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)) preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods, including time spent on the production floor.Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.Must be able to perform repetitive motions on a daily basis.Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.This job description does not imply these are the only duties to be performed.
