POSITION SUMMARYThe Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality standards, methods, instructions, and quality planning on assigned programs. The role includes performing supplier surveys, internal audits, and process audits. The Quality Engineer will support engineering, manufacturing, program management, and quality groups, and will be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives and customer/supplier interactions.POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITESReview customer Purchase Order and Contract requirements to communicate quality requirements to responsible departments.Perform internal and process audits, as assigned.Provide technical direction and support to inspection.Review and approve drawings and product build (work orders) documentation.Review product discrepancies in manufacturing, perform investigations and coordinate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve problems.Document, track and communicate Quality Plans, test results, analysis & unresolved problems.Perform AS9102 First Article Inspection ReportsRepresent Quality Assurance in day-to-day communication with customers and suppliers, including certifications, data, and corrective actions.Perform supplier surveys, as assigned.Review supplier purchase requisitions and apply appropriate quality requirements.Support assigned Quality Assurance tasks, as required.Support the company’s training program by creating, reviewing, and updating training materials.Participate in and lead continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.SKILLS & ABILITIESExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Micrometers, height gauges, etc.Working knowledge of Mil-Spec and government contract requirements.Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems requirements.Analytical and problem-solving abilityExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Education and ExperienceEducation:Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) Preferred. Working conditions are 50% a normal office/lab environment and 50% a manufacturing environment and may be noisy at times. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
