Job description

Johnson Service Group is looking for a Quality Manager with 5 years’ experience with Strong working knowledge of AS9100/AS9120 / ISO 9001, audits, inspections, and corrective action systems. This is a Direct Job in Chatsworth, CA for an Aerospace company. Salary: 100K The Quality Manager leads and continuously improves the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) and all Quality functions to ensure ongoing compliance with AS9100/AS9120, ISO 9001, customer/contract requirements, and applicable regulatory/industry standards. This role owns product/process conformity, inspections, nonconformance and corrective action, audits, supplier/customer quality performance, and quality metrics—partnering cross-functionally to reduce risk, prevent defects, and drive continual improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• QMS Ownership: Maintain and improve policies, procedures, records, controls, risk reviews, and management review inputs to keep the QMS audit-ready.
• Inspection & Conformity: Oversee receiving, in-process/final inspection, FAI, delegated/source inspection, and measurement system control/calibration.
• Nonconformance & CAPA: Lead containment, disposition, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness verification (5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, FMEA, etc.).
• Customer & Supplier Quality: Manage quality issues, RMAs/claims, DPPM/scorecards, waivers, audits, and escalations; ensure flow-down requirements are implemented.
• Audits & Compliance: Run the internal audit program and support customer/supplier/certification/regulatory audits through closure.
• Leadership & KPIs: Manage Quality team performance, staffing, training/competency, and track KPIs (escapes, defects, audits, CAPA, productivity, backlog) to drive improvements.

Qualifications (Summary)

• Strong working knowledge of AS9100/AS9120 / ISO 9001, audits, inspections, and corrective action systems.
• Aerospace hardware/traceability/technical documentation experience preferred.
• Preferred certifications/training: Internal Auditor, RCA/CAPA training, AS9102 FAI knowledge; ASQ certifications (CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE, CQI) a plus.
• Ability to interpret drawings/specs and work with inspection tools; comfortable operating across office/warehouse/inspection environments; up to 20% travel possible.
