Job description

Currie & Brown is a global leader in construction consultancy, partnering with clients to deliver some of the world’s most complex and ambitious projects. We bring together expertise across project management, cost management, and advisory services to provide greater certainty, drive better outcomes, and create lasting value throughout the project lifecycle.

This position offers the opportunity to work on technically complex, high-profile construction projects while collaborating with experienced professionals across project management, construction management, cost management, and project controls.

About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support a large-scale, mission-critical construction program. This role provides independent quality oversight, assurance, governance, and advisory support throughout all phases of the project.

The Quality Manager will work closely with project leadership, general contractors, trade contractors, design teams, commissioning teams, and other key stakeholders to promote compliance with project quality requirements and provide visibility into quality performance, risks, deficiencies, and corrective actions.

This is an oversight and assurance role rather than a field execution position. The Quality Manager will identify, document, communicate, and elevate quality risks and non-conformances, while responsibility for construction execution, workmanship, inspections, testing, and corrective actions remains with the applicable contractors.

Responsibilities
  • Provide independent quality oversight, assurance, governance, and advisory support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Review contractor Quality Management Programs (QMPs), inspection plans, procedures, and supporting documentation for alignment with project requirements.
  • Verify that quality programs, inspection plans, and procedures are complete, coordinated, and effectively implemented.
  • Monitor implementation of approved quality programs and identify gaps, systemic risks, inconsistencies, and non-conformances.
  • Support quality audits, assessments, field reviews, and independent quality evaluations.
  • Review construction activities for alignment with project specifications, drawings, technical standards, and design intent.
  • Identify and elevate discrepancies between drawings, specifications, submittals, quality documentation, and field execution.
  • Maintain and monitor deficiency tracking, including aging, responsible parties, corrective actions, and closeout status.
  • Escalate significant quality findings and systemic risks through established project governance channels.
  • Support commissioning and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) readiness by reviewing test procedures, documentation, and acceptance criteria.
  • Verify the completeness, accuracy, and traceability of turnover documentation and quality record packages.
  • Prepare monthly quality audit reports detailing findings, deficiencies, corrective-action progress, and overall quality performance.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to promote continuous improvement and consistent application of quality standards.
  • Maintain an independent oversight role without directing field crews, approving or rejecting contractor work, or assuming responsibility for contractor execution or workmanship.
Qualifications
  • 5–10 years of quality management experience within construction, commissioning, engineering, or a related environment.
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects, with data center, mission-critical, advanced technology, or similarly complex project experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience with quality audits, assessments, deficiency management, and corrective-action tracking.
  • Experience reviewing contractor Quality Management Programs, inspection plans, and quality procedures.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, inspection processes, and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with commissioning, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), turnover, and project closeout processes.
  • Ability to identify quality risks, analyze issues, and effectively elevate findings to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with contractors, consultants, and project leadership.
  • Experience working in an owner’s representative, consultancy, or independent quality assurance environment is preferred.
What you can expect:
  • A collaborative business environment where every voice is heard and valued.
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth within a global construction consultancy.
  • A buddy and mentorship program to support your success.
  • Continuous learning and professional development.
  • Opportunities for national and international mobility.
  • Healthy work/life balance.
  • Exposure to complex, high-profile construction programs.
  • A comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and more.
