Job summary

HR On Demand, a Texas-based partner, seeks a Quality Manager to own the quality function from the ground up in a precision electronics manufacturing environment. You will oversee SMT line quality, optical module assembly, supplier quality, and drive ISO 9001 implementation.

The role demands hands-on SMT quality experience, strong audit leadership, CAPA and SPC expertise, and a track record of building robust quality systems across shifts.

Qualifications

• 5–8+ years of quality management in electronics/hardware manufacturing.
• Hands-on SMT quality experience — AOI/SPI, IPC-A-610/J-STD-001, solder defect RCA, and process control.
• Proven ground-up ISO 9001 QMS implementation and audit readiness experience.
• Strong SPC, IQC/IPQC, vendor audit, and inspection program ownership.
• Optical transceiver module quality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own quality oversight of the SMT production line — AOI/SPI, IPC-A-610, solder defect analysis, and process control
• Lead quality control for optical transceiver module assembly — TOSA/ROSA, fiber alignment, packaging, and optical/electrical parametric testing (BER, Eye Diagram, optical power)
• Design, implement, and manage ISO 9001 QMS from the ground up — own all internal and external audits
• Direct the CAPA program using 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone methodologies to drive permanent, data-driven process improvements
• Implement SPC to track SMT line and optical module assembly stability — identify and act on trends before quality escapes occur
• Oversee IQC, IPQC, and Final Inspection workflows, MRB process, and FAI for new products
• Manage supplier qualification, vendor audits, and scorecard programs for optical components, PCBs, and electronic assemblies
• Partner with the SMT Manager and Production team to embed quality gates and a 'Right First Time' culture across all shifts

ABOUT THE ROLE

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering — or equivalent
• 5–8+ years of quality management in electronics/hardware manufacturing — SMT/PCB experience is a MUST
• Hands-on SMT quality experience — AOI/SPI, IPC-A-610/J-STD-001, solder defect RCA, and process control
• Optical transceiver module quality experience — TOSA/ROSA, fiber alignment, BER/Eye Diagram testing — strongly preferred
• Proven ground-up ISO 9001 QMS implementation and audit readiness experience
• Strong SPC, IQC/IPQC, vendor audit, and inspection program ownership

Preferred

• QSFP-DD / OSFP form factor experience; familiarity with 400G/800G module qualification
• Cleanroom and ESD-controlled environment experience
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)
• Mandarin proficiency — a significant plus given Robo Optic's Taiwan-based leadership
