Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Quality Manager to lead factory quality operations across incoming materials, production processes, finished products, suppliers, and customer quality. This is a shop-floor-based player-coach role, not a desk-based quality systems position. The Quality Manager must personally investigate significant defects, lead containment and root cause verification, and drive corrective actions through effective closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead IQC, IPQC, FQC, and OQC activities and ensure inspection plans, specifications, sampling requirements, control plans, and acceptance criteria are consistently applied.
  • Maintain a strong daily presence on the production floor and personally troubleshoot quality issues involving assembly, welding and brazing, leak testing, evacuation, refrigerant charging, electrical checks, functional testing, and run-in testing.
  • Lead immediate containment, nonconforming product control, root cause analysis, CAPA, and effectiveness verification for defects such as refrigerant leaks, abnormal noise or vibration, water leaks, workmanship defects, and cooling-performance deviations.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance, issue and close supplier corrective actions, support supplier audits, and prevent supplier-related risks from affecting production.
  • Define final and outgoing inspection requirements, review release records, and ensure nonconforming products are contained before shipment.
  • Manage customer inspections, complaints, returns, and field quality issues; independently lead 8D investigations through verified closure.
  • Maintain ISO 9001 controls, use quality data to reduce defects and cost of poor quality, and lead customer or third-party audit closure.
  • Lead and develop the inspection team while personally executing critical quality work when production, shipment, or customer risk requires immediate action.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or above from an accredited full-time degree program.
  • At least five years of hands-on Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager experience in equipment manufacturing.
  • Proven experience personally resolving shop-floor quality problems; experience limited mainly to documentation, reporting, or administrative management does not meet this requirement.
  • Strong knowledge of IQC, IPQC, FQC, OQC, 8D, root cause analysis, CAPA, nonconformance control, and ISO 9001、ISO16949.
  • HVAC or air-conditioning manufacturing experience is preferred; major HVAC manufacturer experience is highly preferred.
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required.
  • Fluency in Mandarin Chinese, strong teamwork, and effective cross-functional collaboration skills are preferred.
